Last week, it was reported that Tennessee DE Darrell Taylor was involved in a fight with OL Trey Smith during practice, which ended with Taylor kicking Smith in the face.

Now, coach Butch Jones has reportedly taken disciplinary action against Taylor, who was going to miss the first half of Saturday’s South Carolina game anyway due to fighting in the Georgia game last weekend.

According to Rivals.com, Jones has suspended the redshirt sophomore defender indefinitely.

For a team that is struggling and needs a big win on Saturday, this isn’t the kind of distraction Jones or the other Vols need.

Smith reportedly needed stitches to close the wound suffered from Taylor’s kick, but apparently isn’t expected to miss any playing time.

Jones is scheduled to meet with the media this afternoon, where the topic of Taylor’s suspension is sure to be discussed.
