The Auburn Tigers are 3-0 in SEC play, dominating games against Mississippi State, Mizzou and Ole Miss.

However, coach Gus Malzahn’s squad faces a tougher test this weekend when it travels to Baton Rouge to take on LSU.

On his weekly radio program on Thursday night, Malzahn said the Tigers need to continue getting off to fast starts offensively and preventing LSU from doing the same (via AL.com):

“It’s very important…. The last three games we’ve gotten off to an outstanding start offensively and defensively, and really put games away in the first half.”

With QB Jarrett Stidham and RB Kerryon Johnson playing so well, Auburn has indeed been putting games out of reach for opponents through the beginning of SEC play.

To keep that going against LSU will be tougher, but LSU hasn’t been as dominant as in years past, so perhaps Malzahn and the Tigers can keep their hot streak going.
