Alabama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick does it all for the Crimson Tide defense and is a big reason why his team is the No. 1 team in the country.

Through seven games, the talented defender has 32 tackles (4.5 for a loss), an interception, a forced fumble and four passes defensed, in addition to a blocked kick on special teams.

Though Alabama QB Jalen Hurts is perhaps the Crimson Tide’s best bet to win a Heisman Trophy at this point, Sports Illustrated is showing Fitzpatrick some love, too.

On their latest Heisman watch, which you can see here, Fitzpatrick is No. 4, behind Penn State RB Saquon Barkley, Stanford RB Bryce Love and Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield.

Fitzpatrick is certainly a long shot to even earn an invite to the Heisman ceremony in New York, as the last defender to win the trophy was Charles Woodson back in 1997.

Still, Fitzpatrick is turning heads this season, and that should be taken into account at the end of the year.
