The Florida Gators were confident heading into this season’s matchup with Georgia, but they would probably like to have back some of what was said earlier in the week.

Florida DB Chauncey Gardner called out Georgia QB Jake Fromm leading up to the game while many Gators seemed confident despite a No. 3 ranking for the Bulldogs. Georgia responded with 21 unanswered points in the first half and rolled to a blowout 42-7 win over the Gators.

It was an incredible performance as the Bulldogs ran for 292 yards behind 137 yards and two touchdowns from RB Sony Michel.

The Bulldogs let their game do the talking on the field, but they clearly did not forget what the Gators had to say earlier in the week. Georgia defender Davin Bellamy posted a perfect response to his Twitter account following the big win:

Bellamy also addressed the chatter from the Gators, and he said the Bulldogs decided to let their helmets do the talking:

“We saw what they were tweeting earlier, and we were humble all week,” said Bellamy, “And we talked with our helmets.”

Georgia will now likely debut in the top 4 of the initial rankings for the Playoff before the Bulldogs get set to host South Carolina next weekend. Kickoff against the Gamecocks is set for 3:30 pm EST on CBS.
