Report: Feleipe Franks told Randy Shannon he’s better than Malik Zaire

When Florida parted ways with coach Jim McElwain on Sunday, the first thing interim coach Randy Shannon did was open up the quarterback competition.
Heading into Saturday’s Mizzou game, a change was made from redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks to Notre Dame graduate transfer Malik Zaire.
However, Franks wasn’t happy about the change, according to the ESPN sideline reporter during Saturday’s game.
According to the reporter, Franks went to Shannon to complain, saying he’s a better quarterback than Zaire:

The comments came during the week, when the change was made official, and Shannon said he had no problem with Franks’ remarks:

Franks certainly has more upside than Zaire, but at the end of the day, it’s all about results, and the wins haven’t been there with Franks leading the offense.
Therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise to the redshirt freshman that he lost his starting job. However, we may not have seen the last of Franks this year.
