The SEC’s new policy appears to be better safe than sorry when it comes to what patrons will soon be permitted to bring into the stadiums across the league.

Following the conclusion of the 2018 Spring Meetings from Destin, Southeastern Conference commissioner Greg Sankey announced that the league will soon have metal detectors in place to guard against fans bringing in contraband not permitted into its stadiums. This was a measure sponsored by LSU.

It’s unclear at this time when the metal detectors will go into effect but it appears they will all be installed by the year 2020. However, there’s a chance the metal detectors are in place come the fall for football games.
