Florida fans are rightfully disappointed with the result on the field Saturday, a 38-17 loss to Missouri, but the Gators received some good news about the future of the program.

Kamar Wilcoxson, a 2021 athlete out of Stone Mountain, Ga., announced Saturday that he has committed to Florida. The Stephenson product is UF’s first pledge for the 2021 class.

Wilcoxson does not yet have a multi-service composite ranking, but 247Sports rates him the No. 7 athlete, No. 10 Georgia product and No. 91 overall recruit in the 2021 class. He also has scholarship offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and Texas A&M.

“Life Is A Gamble, Don’t be scared to take that Risk … 1000% Committed to The University Of Florida,” Wilcoxson wrote in a tweet announcing his commitment. It also included the image and note below.
