After going 5-7 last season and losing QB Jordan Ta’amu and several talented receivers, it’s understandable that media members weren’t too high on the Ole Miss Rebels during SEC Media Days.

In the media poll, the Rebels were picked to finish sixth in the seven-team SEC West, but that isn’t sitting well with many players.

Count redshirt freshman QB Matt Corral among those who feel disrespected. Speaking on Thursday, Corral said he’ll be playing with a chip on his shoulder this fall (via 247Sports):

“Me personally, that pisses me off,” Corral said. “I know, just by speaking with other guys, it puts a chip on their shoulders, as well. We know we’re talented and we know what we’re capable of doing. For the people who don’t even know us or know what we’re capable of doing, just putting a roof on us is disrespectful.”

The Rebels will have to prove it on the field, though, before they earn any respect. And they can start in Week 1 at Memphis.

Currently, the Rebels are six-point underdogs against the Tigers, so a win there would be a great way to kick off the 2019 season.
