Heading into the pre-2019 NFL Draft process, Florida EDGE Jachai Polite was projected as a first-round pick.

However, he bombed in interviews and on the field at the NFL Combine and ended up falling to the third round, where the New York Jets took a flyer on him.

The Jets may be having some buyer’s remorse, though, as NY Post reporter Brian Costello noted that Polite hasn’t done anything impressive:

Third-round pick Jachai Polite has shown nothing so far in training camp. Polite is working with the third-team defense and has not made any plays of note. It is early, so there is no reason to panic, but he is going to have to show the coaches more to have a role this year.

Costello points out it is still early in the preseason for Polite, but this isn’t what the Jets had in mind when they selected him in Round 3.
