Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman has had a busy couple of days.

The former Georgia offensive line coach had his first interview as the Razorbacks’ head man on Monday, and now he may have his first assistant.

According to Bruce Feldman, Arkansas is expected to hire Mizzou’s current offensive line coach:

With reports that Pittman may bring on Davis, it is fitting that his first hire would be to coach the offensive line, assuming that is what Davis would be brought on to do. Pittman has built his career as being one of the elite offensive line coaches and recruiters in college football, with previous stops at Tennessee, Arkansas and Georgia in just the last decade.

Davis just finished his second season at Missouri, and saw his boss Barry Odom fired at the end of the season after a 6-6 finish. Before his stop in Columbia, Davis coached Florida’s offensive line in 2017.

Davis was a graduate assistant helping with North Carolina’s offensive line in 2008, when Sam Pittman was the coach of that position group. It seems that connection could ensure Davis stays in the SEC in 2019.
