Georgia just landed commitment No. 16 of the 2020 recruiting cycle.

One day before the Early Signing Period begins, the Bulldogs’ latest recruiting class just got better as Baton Rouge native Major Burns has announced his commitment to Kirby Smart’s Georgia program. Burns is coming off a visit to Athens and recently decommitted from LSU. Burns was previously committed to Texas A&M, as well.

The 6-foot-2, 176-pound Madison Prep Academy star from Baton Rouge ranks as a four-star prospect, the No. 11 safety in the nation and a top 155 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

While Georgia’s current recruiting class may be small, it still ranks among the best in the nation leading up to the start of the Early Signing Period on Wednesday, the haul by Smart and company currently ranks as the No. 6 class in the nation and No. 4 class in the SEC. With several elite targets remaining on the team’s recruiting board heading into the signing period, Georgia is positioned well to make a big jump up the recruiting rankings by the end of the week.
