5-star South Carolina DE commit Jordan Burch shares latest on recruitment

5-star DE Jordan Burch surprised some people when he chose to commit to South Carolina at the start of the Early Signing Period, but not submit a National Letter of Intent. On Saturday, he addressed reporters at the Under Armour All-American high school all-star game in Orlando.
As for the two biggest questions surrounding his recruitment, Burch told reporters he did not sign in December because he wanted to sign alongside his teammates in February, echoing a recent comment from his head coach. Burch acknowledged that other schools have contacted him, since he’s only verbally committed and not signed, but he hasn’t responded.
South Carolina fans will like that Burch hasn’t responded to the schools contacting him, but the Gamecocks faithful will be less enthused about the fact that Burch is still considering taking other visits in January. He described LSU as his No. 2 pick with Clemson his third choice. Alabama and Georgia were also finalists.
