As Mississippi State prepared to face Louisville in the Music City Bowl, the Bulldogs saw one of their starters hobbled, and in need of help to get off the field.

Darryl Williams, a veteran offensive lineman who was named an offensive team captain coming out of spring practice, was helped off the field from the end zone. It appeared that Williams may have hurt his right knee.

Williams, who played center, is a three-year starter, and one of the best centers in the SEC. He started 25 games the last two seasons at guard. The 6-foot-3, 310-pounder is from Bessemer, Alabama. He was expected to start his 37th career start on the O-line in the Music City Bowl, but this injury put that in doubt.
