Jauan Jennings is officially an NFL receiver.

Yes, Jennings was selected in the 2020 NFL Draft but until Wednesday, he had yet to sign his first professional contract to play at the game’s highest level.

The San Francisco 49ers selected Jennings in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, which by no means guaranteed he would land a contract to play for the team, but not only has the former standout Tennessee receiver landed a deal, the club gave the rookie a four-year deal to play in Kyle Shanahan’s offensive system.

Jennings left Tennessee after catching 146 passes (fifth-most in program history), 2,153 receiving yards (fourth-most in program history) and 18 touchdowns. Including one that Georgia fans would soon love to forget.

The Tennessee team captain was voted team MVP following the Volunteers’ 8-5 season. Now he’ll have the opportunity to make his mark at the NFL level playing for an offensive-minded head coach that has quickly turned the 49ers into one of the best teams in the league.
