Lane Kiffin’s program didn’t currently hold a commitment from an in-state prospect entering the week but that has changed as Biloxi native Elijah Sabbatini announced his pledge to join the Ole Miss program on Monday evening.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Biloxi High School product is currently not rated by 247Sports but is listed as a safety prospect. Sabbatini picked Ole Miss over scholarship offers from Louisville, Indiana, Memphis, UAB, Arkansas State and Army, among others.

Sabbatini’s commitment comes after his recruitment has begun to heat up, landing scholarship offers from several Power 5 programs in recent weeks.

Spanning the previous two high school seasons, Sabbatini has registered 181 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, seven pass breakups and four interceptions.

The rising senior plays both sides of the ball for Biloxi High School, as you can see in his junior season highlight reel.
