Mark Stoops’ Kentucky program clearly sees the need to address one key position in the 2021 recruiting cycle and that’s the receiving corps.

Following Kentucky’s latest win on the recruiting trail, the Wildcats currently hold commitments from 12 prospects which four of those pledges coming from receivers. The program isn’t just settling for any receivers, either as the four pass-catchers committed to Kentucky are the four highest-rated prospects committed in the class.

On Tuesday, Kentucky’s recruiting class got better as Pleasant Grove, Ala., native Christian Lewis announced his commitment to join Stoops’ program.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Lewis is currently rated as a three-star prospect, the nation’s No. 67 receiver and a top 450 overall recruit in the nation for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Considering his overall ranking, Lewis is on the cusp of being ranked as a four-star prospect nationally.

It’s easy to see why based on his junior season highlight reel as Lewis caught 75 passes for 1,398 yards and 20 touchdowns during his junior season.
