Spurs Up! South Carolina picks up its second commitment in as many days as Georgia receiver pledges to Gamecocks
South Carolina’s recruiting efforts have picked up in a hurry in recent weeks and the momentum rolls on heading into the holiday weekend as the Gamecocks have just picked up a commitment from Georgia receiver Derwin Burgess Jr., who announced his commitment on Thursday.
The 5-foot-11, 177-pound Riverdale, Ga., native is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 165 receiver prospect in the country for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.
With Burgess joining the South Carolina class, the Gamecocks now hold pledges from 13 prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle. South Carolina’s recruiting class ranks as the No. 11 class in the SEC following this news.
