Dan Mullen is getting roasted for what he told ESPN’s broadcasters prior to the LSU game

Florida’s performance against LSU has left many Gators fans frustrated. But when they learned about comments coach Dan Mullen made before the game, it took their irritation to another level.
Sean McDonough and Todd Blackledge on the ESPN broadcast noted that Mullen told them this week that even if the Gators lose to LSU, he believes Florida would still make the playoffs with a win over Alabama, per Matt Scalici.
That statement was heard by many across college football, and by fans of other SEC programs, and it did not go over well. Mullen has made several questionable comments this season, and this may be the latest head scratcher.
The reactions poured in:

I couldn’t believe I heard that, and you could all but hear the announcers rolling their eyes as they told the story. That would never happen, but it does give us some insight as to why this game is going the way it is. https://t.co/cjWUjMgKLc

Mullen also thinks the current state of the football team the last 4 games now is acceptable
Clearly he isn’t as good as his record 35-game start shows https://t.co/yB9Lb84JbZ

Not just a clown. The whole damn circus. A&M would get in. They may even give a look to an undefeated Cincy team with three wins over ranked teams.

But Florida actually has to beat Alabama in that case. Assuming Bama doesn’t fall apart, Najee and Smitty will kill this defense

That is the most Dan Mullen statement I think I’ve ever heard

So he DID spend all week prepping for bama

A two loss Alabama wouldn’t get in the playoff, let alone a program that has no clout.
