Former South Carolina TE Hayden Hurst has been open and honest about his mental health struggles during his time in college since he’s joined the NFL.

Now a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Hurst has continued to be an outspoken advocate for mental health programs and de-stigmatizing the discussion of such issues.

On Thursday, it was announced that he’d won the NFLPA Alan Page Community Award, which is the Players Association’s highest honor:

That’s quite the recognition for the former Gamecock, who continues to do outstanding work in his community.

After spending his first 2 pro seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Hurst had a career year with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020. He recorded 56 catches for 571 yards and 6 touchdowns. He figures to continue to be a big part of the Falcons’ offense in 2021 and beyond.
