There was so much hype surrounding MarShawn Lloyd’s debut in Columbia last season that losing the freshman sensation to a season-ending injury in camp was a real gut-punch to the team’s 2020 campaign.

“I’m extremely disappointed for MarShawn,” former South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp said last August after Lloyd went down. “It was a non-contact situation where he just planted his foot and tore his ACL. MarShawn will attack his rehabilitation like he does everything in life. The best is yet to come for MarShawn Lloyd.”

While losing Lloyd was devastating, it did result in Kevin Harris’ breakout season as the Gamecock running back led the SEC in rushing by the time the regular season ended after racking up 1,138 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2020.

Now with Lloyd working hard to make a complete recovery in time for the 2021 season, Shane Beamer has suggested Lloyd could be cleared to compete in South Carolina’s upcoming spring camp, the Gamecocks may have the best running back duo the SEC has to offer in 2021.

On Wednesday, Lloyd shared videos on his Instagram account featuring his continued rehab inside South Carolina’s facility. You can view that video here.

In addition to his rehab videos, Lloyd also shared video of some of his highlight runs during South Carolina camp leading up to last season.

He made more than a few Gamecock defenders look foolish on these runs.
