Ever since the Tennessee Volunteers made it to the College World Series this season, coach Tony Vitello has been a hot name.

Vitello was at one point linked to the LSU job, which opened up after the legendary Paul Mainieri retired. But, he decided to remain on Rocky Top.

Now, he’s received the contract extension many fans have been hoping would come his way. The school announced the extension on Tuesday:

Vitello’s restructured contract runs through the 2026 season.

Per college baseball insider Kendall Rogers, Vitello will make $1.5 million per year under his new contract:

Vitello will be sticking around Tennessee for a while, it seems. That’s good news for a program on the rise in the SEC!
