Just when it appears that the Southeastern Conference’s expansion of Texas and Oklahoma can’t go any faster, new information is shared that suggests the movement to get the Longhorns and Sooners to the SEC is in hyperspeed.

According to SDS’s Matt Hayes, at least one of Matt’s SEC sources has indicated that “the expectation” is for both programs to play in the league beginning with the 2022 college football season.

This report is similar to one thrown out by Brett McMurphy late last week, suggesting that both teams will work hard to enter the SEC as soon as possible.

Here is the info shared by Hayes on Monday:

If you were unaware, Texas is scheduled to play Alabama in 2022 and 2023 while Oklahoma is scheduled to play Georgia in 2023 and Tennessee in 2024.

Who knew when those games were scheduled that two SEC teams were scheduling each other?
