Florida fans have been clamoring for more appearances from redshirt freshman quarterback Anthony Richardson. It’s clear that Robinson provides a boost to the Gators offense whenever he’s in the game, but he hasn’t played since a start against Georgia on Oct. 30.

However, Richardson had to depart the Cocktail Party after suffering a concussion. Even with a possibly healthy Richardson on hand in previous weeks, Dan Mullen has garnered criticism for how he’s handled the quarterback situation this year, which has been among the least of his worries, to be honest.

For now, according to quarterback coach Garrick McGee, it’s a matter of getting Richardson conditioned and used to his speed in order to preserve himself and prevent further, potential longer-term injury.

“(Richardson) has to take care of his body,” McGee said on Tuesday, according to the Orlando Sentinel’s Edgar Thompson. “He’s faster than kids his size. He is so fast and his muscles are going to strain when he’s running.”

Florida has 2 regular season games remaining, starting with a trip to Missouri on Saturday before hosting Florida State on Nov. 27. The Gators need 1 win to secure bowl eligibility.
