Former Texas A&M head coach R.C. Slocum completes treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma
Former Texas A&M head coach R.C. Slocum on Monday celebrated the completion of his cancer treatments.
In June, Slocum, the Aggies’ head coach from 1989-2002, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphona. He then began treatment to battle the disease.
Monday marked the biggest milestone yet for Slocum, as he was at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center to ring the bell to signal that his treatment had come to an end. You can view the video below courtesy of KBTX-TV:

Slocum, who joined the Aggies staff in 1972 before eventually being elevated to the head coaching spot, was 123-47-2 during his tenure, making him the winningest coach in program history. At one point, Texas A&M held the longest active home winning streak in the country.
He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, being inducted in 2012.
