CFB analyst names ACC team as ‘the school to watch’ for LSU transfer QB Max Johnson

Max Johnson was LSU’s starting quarterback this past season, throwing for 2,814 yards, 27 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

But, ahead of the Tigers’ bowl game and after Brian Kelly was announced as the new head coach, Johnson decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

His brother, 4-star TE prospect Jake Johnson, decommitted from the Tigers, too. So, where could the Johnson brothers end up next?

Per 247Sports’ Chris Hummer, keep an eye on Florida State, where their father, Brad, played his college football:

“It’s not a lock by any means, but the buzz earlier this year was if Max transferred, the brothers could end up going to the same college,” 247Sports national analyst and transfer portal insider Chris Hummer said. “Instinct and history say Florida State is the school to watch if that’s the case. The Johnsons’ dad, Brad, played quarterback for the Seminoles.

“Florida State could also really use an upgrade — or at least depth depending on how you feel about Max Johnson vs. Jordan Travis — at both positions. If the Seminoles can manage to land both, it’d be huge for Mike Norvell’s momentum in Tallahassee.”

Will the Johnsons head to FSU to follow in their dad’s footsteps? That remains to be seen, but it would certainly be an interesting match.
