Mizzou fans react to new QB Brady Cook after first half of Armed Forces Bowl
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Mizzou had a new starting quarterback in the Armed Forces Bowl, turning to freshman Brady Cook instead of Connor Bazelak, who started all but 1 game in the regular season.
Cook had an exciting first half, showing off some rushing prowess that Bazelak didn’t have (partly due to injury issues he dealt with most of the year).
Here were Cook’s first-half stats against Army:
Brady Cook:
13-15 117 yards 7.8 avg
8 carries 61 yards 7.6 avg 1 TD

Naturally, as Mizzou took a 16-7 lead into the intermission, fans were excited about Cook’s performance. Here’s some of the reaction to Cook’s efforts on Twitter:

Brady Cook has two things you can't teach a QB; balls and wheels #MIZ #ArmedForcesBowl

Brady Cook is playing his ass off and keeps showing why he should’ve replaced Bazelak so much sooner in the year

Brady cook has opened up this offense so much

Mizzou has a long way to go in this game if it wants to win. We’ll see if Cook can continue to make some big plays and get the Tigers into the end zone more often after having to settle for some red-zone field goals in the first half.
