Change of plans: Florida off-field hire taking on-field position at Louisiana

Billy Napier will have to find another wide receivers analyst. Matt Bergeron, who was announced as a Florida analyst hire on Dec. 28, has taken an on-field position with Louisiana as the Ragin’ Cajuns running backs coach.

Bergeron was a Louisiana grad assistant for 2 seasons, working with the quarterbacks in 2018 and the wide receivers in 2019. As an analyst, he worked with the wide receivers in 2020 and the tight ends in 2021.
A former Southern Miss quarterback, Bergeron got into coaching at Arizona State as a grad assistant and quality control staffer in 2016 and ’17.
