Leota transferred to Auburn from Northwestern in 2021 after earning third-team All-Big Ten recognition in 2020. This season, Leota had 23 tackles, including 10 for loss and 7 sacks.

In 2 seasons at Northwestern, Leota played in 15 games, recording 25 tackles, including 10 for loss and 6.5 sacks.

Leota was considered a junior at Auburn in 2021. Due to the circumstances of the 2020 season, the NCAA did not count it against players’ eligibility, meaning Leota could potentially play for Auburn in both 2022 and 2023.
