Cameron Latu put together a strong 2021 campaign for Alabama in the 2021 season at the tight end spot. He ended up with 410 yards and 8 touchdowns as he served as a key end zone target for Bryce Young throughout the campaign.

As a draft-eligible player that wrapped up his 4th season with the team, there’s the possibility that Latu could look to forego the remainder of his eligibility and enter the NFL Draft versus coming back to Alabama and looking to increase his stock. For now, at least, it appears that the Salt Lake City native is leaning toward the latter option.

According to On3’s Matt Zenitz, Latu coming back to Tuscaloosa is “the expectation”:

Latu was recruited out of high school as a defensive player and appeared in 2 games as a linebacker in his redshirt season of 2018. He then switched over to tight end and saw little playing time over the next 2 seasons before he exploded onto the scene in 2021.

He made 5 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday.
