Kansas advances to Elite 8, passes Kentucky for all-time wins

A No. 1 seed remains alive in the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Kansas, the top-seed in the Midwest Region, advanced to the Elite 8 Friday night with a 66-61 win over No. 4-seed Providence. The Jayhawks have something else to celebrate, too. KU has moved to No. 1 in all-time wins among college basketball programs.
Kansas now has 2,354 wins. KU moves ahead of Kentucky, which currently has 2,353 wins.
The final No. 1 seed remaining, @KUHoops, holds on against Providence.

Kansas outlasts Providence 66-61 to move Bill Self within one win of his fourth trip to the Final Four. The all-time men’s college basketball wins race now stands: 1. Kansas 2,354; 2. Kentucky 2,353.

In the Elite 8, Kansas will face the winner of No. 11-seed Iowa State vs. No. 10-seed Miami. The Midwest Region final is being held at the United Center in Chicago.
