Rick Barnes will lose some experience next season as Tennessee men’s basketball this weekend saw a veteran guard enter the transfer portal.

Victor Bailey Jr. who played 2 seasons at Oregon, has entered the transfer portal after 3 seasons with Tennessee basketball, according to 247Sports’ Travis Branham. The graduate transfer will have a year of eligibility remaining. He played in 61 games in 2 seasons for the Vols after he sat out the 2019-20 season as a transfer.

“Always be home sweet home,” Bailey posted on Instagram on Saturday, Knox News reported.

Bailey saw his role change after he averaged a team-best 10.9 points per game as a junior, but became more of a bench player for defensive substitutions. Bailey played in 34 of 35 games, and averaged 9.6 minutes per game.

Bailey is just 110 points shy of scoring his 1,000th Division I point; he scored 513 points during his 2 years at Oregon.

This past season, he scored an SEC season-high 11 points at Missouri on 5-for-8 shooting, and also had 5 points in 7 minutes against Texas A&M.

Against Texas, he recorded the game-tying basket with 1:23 remaining with an offensive rebound and tip-in layup. Bailey also had 2 assists and 3 rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.
