Tennessee QB coach Joey Halzle has a second year to work with Hendon Hooker after the former Virginia Tech quarterback finished the 2021 season strong.

Hooker is being lauded as a potential Heisman dark horse ahead of the 2022 season, and he has the talent to achieve that with a big year.

On Wednesday, Halzle explained where Hooker has improved this offseason, noting his ability to make second and third reads on plays and understanding defenses:

Hooker threw for 2,945 yards, 31 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions in 2021. If he can produce even more, while keeping his interceptions low, he has the profile of a Heisman winner.

He also added 620 yards and 5 scores as a runner, which is an important part of his game. Look for him to continue running well, too.
