Eric Musselman has successfully turned to the transfer portal throughout his Arkansas tenure, so it’s no surprise that the Razorbacks are among the first teams to contact one of the top transfer prospects of the 2022 offseason.

Joe Tipton of On3 writes that Arkansas is among the first teams to have reached out Memphis transfer Emoni Bates:

Here is a full list of schools that Bates provided via text to On3:

Arkansas, Georgetown, Seton Hall, Kansas, DePaul, Louisville, Oregon, Michigan, Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Oklahoma State, Butler, and Washington State.

Out of Yspi Prep Academy in Michigan, Bates was rated 5-stars, the No. 1 small forward and No. 5 player overall nationally in the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite. Memphis beat out Michigan State, Kentucky, Tennessee and others to land Bates’ pledge.

This season, Bates played in 18 games. He posted averages of 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 9.7 points on 38.6% field-goal shooting over 23.4 minutes per game.
