Tyler Harrell, a wide receiver from Louisville who was in the transfer portal, announced a commitment to Alabama on Friday.

Known for his speed, Harrell at Louisville caught 18 passes for 523 yards and 6 touchdowns over 13 games during the 2021 season. He visited Alabama last weekend for the spring game events.

“Just with the quarterback, with Bryce Young,” Harrell told BamaOnLine of why he could see himself picking the Tide. “I just feel like with his arm and his capability of throwing the ball, I feel like our chemistry would be fine with the speed I have and the capability I have as well. I feel like we could go a long way with it.”

Harrell was clocked at 4.24 in the 40-yard dash at a Louisville Pro Day in 2021.

Williams didn’t have a chance to run a 40-yard dash this offseason before the 2022 NFL Draft, but it’s clear he would have shined based on his speed shown on the field. He finished 2021 with a career 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns, the Tuscaloosa News reported.

“It was phenomenal,” Harrell said of his visit to Alabama. “It was a good fan base. It was an experience I ain’t ever seen before. I was excited about it. I liked what was going on as far as the facilities, the football field, the apartments, stuff like that. The academics, they’re big on that as well. Everything was just great.”
