Dennis Gates continues to rebuild the roster at Missouri and has once again dipped back into Cleveland State for an addition to the Tigers. This time, Gates is adding guard Ben Sternberg to the program as a preferred walk-on.
“Extremely grateful for the goat, Coach Gates for giving me an opportunity to exercise my extra year of eligibility and be a preferred walk-on,” Sternberg wrote via Twitter.

Sternberg was seldom used during his time with the Vikings. He appeared in just 7 games during the 2021-22 season and scored just 6 points.
Sternberg becomes the third former Cleveland State player to follow Gates to Mizzou. The first player to transfer to the Tigers was guard Tre Gomillion, and he was quickly followed by D’Moi Hodge via the transfer portal.
