Ex-Alabama walk-on DB, former 3-star recruit announces transfer to Big Ten school
Brylan Lanier is heading to the Big Ten to continue his college football career. The former Alabama walk-on defensive back announced his pledge to Indiana on Friday.

Lanier, a Cottondale, Alabama native, was a 3-star recruit in the class of 2021. He originally enrolled at Georgia State but left to join Nick Saban’s program as a walk-on. Lanier’s 2021 scholarship offers included Southern Miss, Tulane and UAB.
Lanier did not see the field in his freshman year with the Crimson Tide, taking a redshirt for the 2021 season. Lanier was part of a group of UA players who entered the NCAA transfer portal after the national championship game.
Tom Allen’s Hoosiers are coming off of a 2-10 season in 2021.
