Freddie Kitchens played quarterback at Alabama back in the 1990s, but has been an NFL assistant coach since 2006, even serving as the Cleveland Browns’ head coach in 2019.
This past season, he was on the staff of the New York Giants, and even served as the offensive coordinator when Jason Garrett was removed.
Now, he’s heading to the SEC. South Carolina announced via Twitter on Wednesday that Kitchens was joining Shane Beamer’s staff as a senior football analyst:

Kitchens was an assistant at Mississippi State from 2004 to 2005 before heading to the NFL. Now, he’ll work with a pro prospect quarterback in Spencer Rattler.
We’ll see if this job spurs Kitchens back to the NFL ranks in 2023.
