Stephon Wynn Jr., a former Alabama defensive tackle, has announced his commitment to play in the Big Ten.

Wynn, a 4-star member of Alabama’s 2018 recruiting class, committed to Nebraska, and announced it on social media. Wynn follows another former Alabama product, safety Kaine Williams, in transferring to Nebraska. In 4 seasons for the Tide, Wynn posted 16 total tackles. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, Wynn should be a nice addition to the defensive front for the Huskers. He will have 2 seasons of eligibility with the Cornhuskers.

Wynn was the first Alabama player to enter the transfer portal after spring practice, as he struggled to see consistent playing time in his Alabama career.

In 2018, Wynn played in 3 games, making 3 tackles and taking a redshirt for the year. Over the last 3 seasons, Wynn has played in 18 games, recording 13 tackles. In 2021, Wynn made 7 appearances, making 5 stops.

An Anderson, South Carolina native, Wynn was the 247Sports Composite’s No. 74 overall prospect in the class of 2018. He signed with Alabama over 26 other scholarship offers.

Wynn is the latest commitment of a re-made Nebraska defensive line. He followed Texas Tech’s Devin Drew and TCU’s Ochaun Mathis chose the Huskers. Wynn has a chance to have a second shot at his college career with this opportunity.
