Game 1 of the Blacksburg Super Regional won’t be completed until Saturday.
The second round of the NCAA Softball Tournament has No. 3 seed Virginia Tech hosting No. 14 seed Florida in a best-of-3 series for a spot in the Women’s College World Series.
First pitch of the series opener was at 2 p.m. ET on Friday. The home team dominated the first 4 innings. Mother Nature, however, stopped play in the top of the 5th inning. The game has now been postponed and the final innings won’t be played until Saturday morning, with coverage on ESPNU starting at 10 a.m. ET.
Virginia Tech leads Florida 6-0 in the top of the 5th. Game 2 is scheduled for noon ET Saturday, airing on ESPN. That start time could be affected by Game 1.
