Dave Van Horn, the Arkansas baseball coach, has been busy building a scouting report about North Carolina, and figures the Razorbacks have a tall order to advance out of the Super Regional in Chapel Hill.
Van Horn noted that North Carolina got off to a slow start in conference play, but the Tar Heels have been hot lately, including winning the ACC Tournament.
“We know it’s going to be a super challenge for us, we’re an underdog, I think we’re OK with that right now,” he said on Sirius XM. “We’re going to have to play our best weekend of baseball if we’re gonna win this series.”
Play begins at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday, June 11, at Boshamer Stadium on ESPN. Game 2 between the Hogs and Tar Heels, the No. 10 national seed, is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 12, on ESPN or ESPN2. If necessary, game 3 will be on Monday, June 13, at a time yet to be determined.
Arkansas (41-19) and North Carolina (42-20) are meeting for the first time in 33 years.
