Florida announces homecoming date, opponent for 2022 season

Florida is entering Year 1 under new head coach Billy Napier, with expectations high for the future of the program.

After a disappointing 6-7 finish during the 2021 campaign, plans are being set for the Gators this fall.

On Thursday afternoon, Florida announced a date and opponent for its annual homecoming game. As you can see below, the showdown on Saturday, Oct. 8, at The Swamp against Mizzou will serve as the day for the homecoming festivities:

Mizzou beat Florida 24-23 in overtime last season in Columbia, going for a 2-point conversion after the first overtime period to seal the dramatic win.

This year, the Gators will be looking for some payback to make sure their homecoming is a happy one.
