LSU lands commitment from elite Texas safety, first pledge of 2024 class

LSU is on the board in a big way for 2024. On Saturday, elite Texas safety Maurice Williams II announced his commitment to Brian Kelly’s program.

A Shadow Creek standout from Pearland, Texas, Williams is listed at 6-feet, 190 pounds and rated 4-stars, the No. 8 safety, No. 10 Lone Star State product and No. 63 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2024 on the 247Sports Composite. At this early stage in his recruitment, Williams has 15 scholarship offers, including Arkansas and Ole Miss. Williams’ announcement coincides with a visit to LSU. Late Friday he shared he had been re-offered by Kelly.
