Alabama had an especially rough exit from the 2022 NCAA Tournament when Crimson Tide guard Jahvon Quinerly tore his ACL in the season-ending loss to Notre Dame. Weeks after the game, Quinerly announced his plans to return to UA for the 2022-23 season. On Friday, Nate Oats shared an update on his point guard.

Oats told reporters that he expects Quinerly back for SEC play, possibly earlier.

Last season, Alabama played its first SEC game on Dec. 29, 2021, against Tennessee. The dates for the 2022-23 SEC slate have yet to be revealed, though UA knows its home and away opponents.

Quinerly appeared in 33 games last season, making 27 starts. He was second on the team in scoring (13.8 points) and assists (4.2).
