Brooks is rated as the No. 5 athlete in the country, as well as the No. 12 prospect from the state of Texas. He is listed on 247 Sports as a running back and was a Texas Class 2A MVP in his time at Shiner High School.
Brooks is the 4th highest rated recruit for the Aggies in the 2023 cycle, behind 5-star linebacker Anthony Hill, 4-star safety Bravion Rogers and 4-star offensive tackle Chase Bisontis.
