Tykee Smith was a highly anticipated transfer addition to the Georgia secondary last fall, coming to Athens via West Virginia.
Unfortunately, Smith tore his ACL in mid-October and missed the rest of the season. Now, he’s working his way back from the injury and, on Thursday, coach Kirby Smart spoke about where Smith is at in his rehab.
Per Smart, Smith is not yet at 100%, and hasn’t been cleared for live tackling as things stand now. But, Smith is participating in practices:
Tykee Smith is not 100 percent, but Smart said he is doing everything he’s been asked to do, but may not be cleared for live tackling just yet.https://t.co/Wv7XUiAaEj

Smith only appeared in 1 game for the Bulldogs in 2021, as a different injury kept him out for the first 5 weeks. He recorded 3 tackles in his limited action.
Can Smith be ready for Week 1 against Oregon? We’ll see how he progresses throughout the rest of fall camp.
