Oluwatosin Babalade, a 4-star offensive tackle out of Hyattsville, Maryland (DeMatha Catholic), has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Babalade shared on social media that he committed to South Carolina. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 296 pounds and has a reported 24 offers. He’s ranked the No. 25 offensive tackle in the country, and the No. 7 player in the state of Maryland, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was recruited to South Carolina by Greg Adkins. Babalade’s other finalists were Rutgers, Maryland, North Carolina and Ohio State.

He was at South Carolina for an official visit the weekend of June 10, and returned last weekend for an unofficial visit.

“With (offensive line) coach Greg (Adkins), I like everything with him,” Babalade told 247Sports. “The family part, his teachings, and when I met with him one-on-one to talk about football.”

Before the announcement, Babalade described his thought process.

“I was looking for comfort and where I felt at home,” Babalade said. “It was just trying to build relationships. It was definitely with the coaches in each program. It was with them mostly.

He’s the 17th commitment for the Gamecocks in this class, and the fourth-highest rated recruit.
