Lane Kiffin has Ole Miss headed in the right direction a season after he led the Rebels to a 10-2 regular season, including a 7-0 record at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in his second year. The Rebels advanced to the Sugar Bowl, a New Year’s Six bowl.

There was plenty to like about the 2021 season, including the first 10-win season since 2015, which doubled the number of wins from the previous year. There was also a three-game win streak mid-season, and a signature win over Texas A&M.

Now the Rebels are trying to replace Matt Corral and have an ongoing quarterback competition between Luke Altmyer and Jaxson Dart. The Rebels led the SEC in total offense in each of Kiffin’s first 2 seasons.

Perhaps most important to some Rebel fans is that Kiffin is 2-0 in the Egg Bowl.

ESPN’s Football Power Index projects the Rebels to have 7.7 wins this season. The most toss-up games appear to be Kentucky, Auburn, Arkansas and Mississippi State. However, the Rebels are pegged to get off to a fast start in non-conference play.
