Former Texas receiver and rising Giants star Collin Johnson will miss the entirety of the 2022 season with a torn Achilles, the team said Wednesday.

Johnson tore his right Achilles during Giants practice.

Johnson was primed for legitimate playing time in his third season in the NFL after being a standout receiver at Texas. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars and ended up in New York following the end of the 2020 season. Across his professional career Johnson has totaled 377 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns.

Johnson appeared in 42 games during his time with the Longhorns, missing part of his senior season with hamstring issues. Across his four year career, Johnson totaled 2,624 yards receiving with 188 catches and 15 touchdowns.

A thin receiver corps just gets thinner up in the Big Apple.
