Geoff Collins is reportedly the latest Power 5 head coach to be fired. Ken Sugiura of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Collins is out as Georgia Tech’s head coach, with athletic director Todd Stansbury’s ouster likely to follow on Monday.

Collins was in his fourth season at Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are 10-28 under Collins, failing to win more than 3 games in a single season. Georgia Tech fell to 1-3 in 2022 after a 27-10 loss at UCF on Saturday. Collins’ squad has also lost to Clemson and Ole Miss this season, with the lone win coming against FCS program Western Carolina.

Collins, 51, has been in coaching since 1993. He was on Alabama’s staff in 2007 as director of player personnel. From 2011-to-2014 he was on Mississippi State’s staff as co-defensive coordinator and later sole DC. Collins was Florida’s defensive coordinator for the 2015 and ’16 seasons before leaving to take the Temple head coaching job. Temple was 15-10 in 2 seasons under Collins.

Georgia Tech becomes the third Power 5 opening, following Nebraska and Arizona State.
