Kirby Smart believes any win in the SEC is difficult, so after Georgia pulled out a victory at Missouri on Saturday, Smart reviewed the game with Cole Cubelic on the SEC Network.

“Oh absolutely, there’s a lot of emotions, it’s hard in the SEC, guys,” Smart said. “Been in this league a long time, there’s nothing easy about the SEC. And when you go on the road in the SEC, you better be prepared.”

Cubelic then mentioned that Georgia adjusted to go more “gap-scheme run” in the second half, and if that made a difference.

“It helped with the penetration they were getting,” Smart said. “Sometimes penetration can hurt you, you’re running some of the zone plans. We did a good job, we weren’t very efficient all day. Defense played their hearts out. We’ve got a lot of things to figure out on offense. We’ve got to get better running the ball. Gotta get more explosive, we’ve got to get some wideouts back.”

How about Stetson Bennett showing composure in the second half?

“He didn’t play his best game, he’ll be the first to tell you that,” Smart said. “But give Missouri some credit. These kids came out here and fought today. And when you play on the road in the SEC, I say it all the time, it’s one of the tough places to play.”
